In 2022, I had the opportunity to work on an online acquisition video for VIRGIN GAMES. The video was published on the iOS App Store and on Google Play, where mobile games are accessible through the Virgin Games app.
After receiving a brief, every motion project begins with a moodboard or a storyboard. Since the team already had some previously used assets and the brand guidelines, the moodboard was not necessary. Therefore, I jumped right to the storyboard phase, first with a pencil on paper, and later with some gathered assets and Adobe Photoshop (further below).
PRODUCTION PROCESS
While some of the assets had already been made for static advertising by the graphic and digital design team at Bally's Interactive (formerly Gamesys Ltd.), most of these were made in Blender. My 3D motion graphic design team worked with Maxon Cinema 4D, and at the time, I had to recreate the Blender textures manually in Redshift. It was a good exercise.
The video went through several iterations based on the stakeholders' feedback. The copy also changed a few times during production, and eventually, we arrived at the final result that you saw .
